PROJECTS

ONE GOAL: ACCURATE ASSESSMENT.

We love collaborating with our clients every step of the way through our projects. And the best part? Seeing their projects come to life through the detailed and precise work by our team. Take a look at how we’ve helped companies - just like yours- to evaluate and assess structural systems.

FIN-PLATE CONNECTION UNDER FIRE

Steel Connection

The capacity of steel connections to withstand standard load combinations may be compromised by the impact of fire loads. To address this issue, a steel connection was modeled and designed to withstand relevant load combinations.

BEAM-COLUMN-BEAM CONNECTION

Steel Connection

A beam-column-beam connection featuring a complex configuration utilizing both bolts and welds was tested for stresses under ultimate limit state (ULS) and serviceability limit state (SLS) combinations. Modifications were made to the initial design to meet safety criteria.

PARAMETRIC DESIGN FOR SANDWICH PANELS

Steel Sandwich Panels under Vertical Loads

A comprehensive parametric design was completed, aiming to identify optimal material properties and dimensions for a sandwich model capable of resisting relatively low loads. To ensure an acceptable level of precision, orthotropic materials like rockwool and cement were modeled with specific properties, in addition to isotropic materials like steel.

DUCTILE WOOD CONNECTION

Design of a wood connection under seismic loads

A finite element analysis was conducted to design a wood connection subjected to short-term seismic loads. As seismic loads exhibit cyclic behavior, elasto-plastic behavior was considered in the analysis.

MULTI-STORY BUILDING

Modular Light-Frame

Modelling and analysis were conducted on a modular light-frame construction used in multi-story structures. The system involved a hyperstructure bearing the weight of two superimposed light-frame substructures. Two reinforced concrete multi-story hyperstructures were designed in accordance with the Eurocodes.

CHANNELS WITH EDGE-STIFFENED WEB HOLES

Cold-Formed Steel Channels

Tests of simply-supported cold-formed steel channels were conducted. A sample with unreinforced web holes was tested, and a nonlinear elastoplastic finite element (FE) model was developed and validated using the experimental results. The validated FE model was then used in a parametric study to investigate the impact of various parameters on the shear capacity of these CFS profiles.

WELDING RESIDUAL STRESS ON TUBULAR JOINTS

Cold-Formed Steel Pipes

Finite element modelling was used to examine the specific effects of welding on the strength and stiffness of cold-formed steel tube (CFST) joints. The findings were validated and compared to testing data. To simulate welding heat generation and residual stress, a predetermined temperature approach and a custom shell-solid modelling method were used

BRACING SYSTEM UNDER CYCLIC LOADING

Composite Bracing System

A composite bracing system was modelled using finite element modelling in order to test its behavior under cyclic loading. The model was studied through a full-scale assembly, and a finite element parametric study was conducted to optimize the dimensions

A SPIRAL STAIRCASE ANALYSIS

Anisotropic Wooden Structure

A finite element model of a spiral wooden staircase was created. The anisotropic nature of wood was taken into account carefully in the model. The main loading combinations which were studied are the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state. Four possible designs were proposed in which safety and serviceably are achieved according to the Eurocode.

“Struksimulering is great to work with. We have been working on various project starting from structural analysis to thermal and dynamic analysis. Struksimulering delivered always on time as expected. Follow-up tests have shown the accuracy made through the FEM analysis. Simply speaking, we are pretty satsifed with the collaboration”
